Colleges & Universities

The goal of these programs is to better serve regional, national and international campuses, to foster connections with campus communities and to increase student and faculty engagement with the Museum. Resources
News & E-News
University Connection is a monthly e-newsletter targeted to university and college faculty and staff. The newsletter includes information on upcoming and current exhibitions, invitations to exclusive exhibition previews, instructional and informational resources to use in class, and unique opportunities for you and your students. If you would like to receive University Connection, please subscribe here. (Be sure to check "College & University Staff Programs University Connection".)
Faculty Forums
These informational meetings will be held in advance of the opening of a temporary exhibition, as an opportunity for faculty to include an exhibition in syllabi and curricula for the upcoming semesters. IMA curators will provide a background on the structure and vision of an exhibition, as well as discuss specific works of art. Museum educators are also in attendance to discuss potential programming collaborations.
Educator Sneak Peeks
Educator Sneak Peeks are an opportunity for university and college educators to view a temporary exhibition before it opens to the public. Curators or museum educators will be on hand to answer questions and provide additional information. Occasionally, special activities will be made available. For example, a stone carving demonstration was performed at the Scholar's Preview for Roman Art from the Louvre.
Stout Reference Library
The IMA's Stout Reference Library is a non-circulating research library that supports research needs regarding the interpretation and publication of works of art from the IMA collection, potential acquisitions and upcoming exhibitions, as well as the visual arts in general.
